Wheels of Boise
It all started with a bus.
Then Wheels of Boise became a simple passion project inside of an elaborate dream. I’ve sat in my barber’s chair and discussed it’s potential. I’ve reached out to the Director of Economic Development. I’ve got pages of ideas.
We moved to Boise from Atlanta in January of 2018. Within days of being here, I began to take notice of more than a handful of vintage autos trolling about town. They were colorful, loud, and they stunk. But they sure were fun.
Now I post those autos on a feed called Wheels of Boise.
Fast forward a bit and my same wandering eye took note of the droves of homeless people taking refuge in our suddenly thriving city. Laying on a park bench at the cathedral in the snow. Sitting at a red light at the 184 connector. Panhandling on 8th Street during market season.
With absolutely zero community influence in my life, I started thinking how to connect these two distinct discoveries.
• I’ll sell prints of these autos and donate to local shelters.
• I’ll begin a Kickstarter campaign (broad enough?)
• I’ll start a Kickstarter campaign, gift prints of autos to donors, maybe make a T-shirt too, and then I’ll give all the money to these people.
My experience in hospitality, marketing, and ministry led me to a vision for this project that is seemingly impossible without some visionaries to rub shoulders with.
